Your business was built on a dream.
But honestly, who dreams of labor?

You want to help, heal, serve, make a difference in the world.

And you want to do it all on your own terms, in your own time, in your own way.

You want to impact the world, yeah…

But you also want to sleep in, raise a family, and travel the globe.

Or maybe you want to spend your days reading books, walking through the forest, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.

What you didn’t dream of was spending the moment you woke up to the moment you went to bed, 24/7/365,  thinking about and worrying about your business.

What you didn’t dream about was the never ending pressure to create endless amounts of content that dazzles and entertains and inspires the masses. Every day. 3-5 times a day. On multiple platforms.

What you didn’t dream about was the incessant feeling that you should always be doing more because you always have more spots to fill, more sales to close, more money to be made - and that no matter how much success you accomplish, the goal-post always moves and it somehow just doesn’t feel like enough.

You didn’t dream of your dream business being the thing that caused you more stress.

You didn’t dream of responding to messages or making posts at 11pm or on a Sunday morning or while you're out to dinner for date night.

I'm Kelly Mahalak and I had to learn all of this the hard way.

Years of hustling left me buried under the pressure to constantly create more, sell more, and make more.

And for a while, it worked.

But the pace of the internet and the coaching industry left me with a growing hatred for my work, feeling resentful of my business, and thinking it might just be easier to burn it all down and get a regular job.

Which would have been fine, except that that wasn't what I really wanted. I wanted to do this work. I wanted to help people. But I also wanted to feel free.

I longed to be well-rested and deeply nourished - which seems to be the exact opposite of how we culturally think of and measure success.

But I decided that if success meant burnout and stress, I didn't want it.

So I set out to create a new way of living and doing business that I was struggling to find modeled and embodied by other coaches and entrepreneurs. Even in the most "feminine", pleasure centered spaces.

Just because you can work from anywhere at anytime, doesn’t mean you have to or should.

The freedom that you dream of can too quickly get robbed when location independence turns into working on vacations and holidays  - and your office being on your phone turns into 24/7 business hours as notifications haunt you and you never really, actually turn your business brain off.

Documenting your embodiment and how you’re living out your work in real time is an amazing thing to get paid for - until you lose the ability to be fully present in your life because you’re always looking for the next shot or how you can turn every moment into content.

No wonder online entrepreneurs and content creators are so burned out and exhausted.

What starts as a dream often becomes a secret nightmare that plagues the very lives we’re out here on the internet selling other people into.

But what if it didn’t have to be like this?

What if your business got to actually be the dream of impact and expression you always wanted, without the pressure and the anxiety of having to be “on” all the time?

What if you came first?

Your joy.

Your peace.

Your pleasure.

Before the business.

Before your clients.

Before content.

What if you lived a leisure-led life that put pleasure, play, and rest ahead of work?

Without hurting your income or leading to the impeding doom your adorable little brain wants you to think will happen if you just slow down.

Slow Business is a holistic approach to online entrepreneurship that prioritizes you: the person, over you: the CEO.

It’s a way of living, thinking, being, and doing business that is rooted in the idea that we are here to LIVE our lives - really live - not just work - even when we love what we do.

It helps heal the wounds that online entrepreneurship has caused by gaslighting us into thinking that if we’re working from bed, or the beach, or a cafè in Paris, that we aren’t actually working - and that social media is just us showing the world who we are and not the curated, professional skillset that it truly is.

Because spoiler alert: if you sell on social media, then any social media activity is work.

Slow Business is a new way of approaching business in our microwave, TikTok society, that wants more from us, at faster rates, while being more entertaining and engaging than ever - and uses principles of pre-internet wisdom and the old ways of spirituality, connection to the earth and to our bodies, and the power of presence, to help us create supportive, sustainable businesses that actually look like the things we dreamed of when we dreamed of businesses in the first place.

 A Six Month Business Mastermind
to help you live a well-supported life of leisure.

It’s about to be 2024.

We aren't hustling and grinding to make our online businesses work.

We aren't falling prey to the boundary-less job of "getting paid to be yourself."

We aren't constantly moving the goalposts so that we never have enough.

We aren't chasing anything, anymore.

In 2024, we're trading chasing quantum leaps for creating steady, sustainable growth.

in 2024, we are being intentional about what we do and don't do…

How we spend our time and energy working…

What we use our platforms for...

And how we create space for stepping off the clock and out of the office when our office follows us around in our hands, our pockets, and our purses.

We're giving up the pushing and forcing, and we're taking care of business in ways that not only ALLOW us, but PRIORITIZE us taking care of ourselves.

Physically, Emotionally, Mentally, Spiritually

And Financially.

We're building businesses we really want.

Businesses that pay - and businesses that let us rest and play.

We want businesses that support us financially and that support our healing and our quality of life.

With the time and spaciousness to rest…

To have hobbies that we don't need to monetize…

And to remember what it means to be fully present in our lives instead of always looking for the next great opportunity to create content from everything we do.

Whether you're a chronic underachiever and just never got down with the quantum boss babes and their million dollar minutes...

Or you’re a neurodivergent girlie or a chronic illness warrior that needs a different way of doing business...

If you're a good girl perfectionist who has run yourself into burnout while building and growing your business...

If you're a Mary Oliver lover and want to spend this one wild and precious life wandering through fields noticing things instead of glued to your iPhone...

If you're struggling with doing business amidsts late stage capitalism, eco-genocide, and constant war...

If you've built a successful business you love but you don't love how much time, brain space, and emotional capacity it takes to hold it all...

Or if you really just want to live your life instead of work through it...

The Slow Business Collective is
business at a different pace.

A slower pace.

Where rest is required and peace is a priority.

And playfulness is highly encouraged.
